In the first half of 2012, Denmark will hold the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. It is the seventh time Denmark holds the EU Presidency since joining the European Community in 1973.
During the next six months Denmark shall lead numerous meetings in Brussels, Luxembourg and Denmark.The Danish government presented the priorities for the Presidency in mid-December 2011 and will present the Presidency Programme in Copenhagen on 6 January 2012.
The aim of the ASSET ECVET project was to test ECVET as a mean to integrate mobility in the initial training programmes and pathways of students in the automobile services sector.
The automobile services sector has a clear European dimension and is characterised by:
Very similar products and job tasks across Europe;
Constant technological changes of products, requiring updating of qualifications;
and a sector that concerns a large number of enterprises, mainly SMEs.

This document consolidates policy in the field of adult learning under the four strategic objectives of "ET2020", the framework for European cooperation in education and training policy.
Being addressed primarily to national governments and authorities, it aimes at enabling all adults to develop and enhance their skills and competences throughout their lives.
This updated and extended version published by Cedefop in 2003 – takes into account recent EU policy developments, including the creation of the European qualifications framework for lifelong learning (EQF) and the development of a European credit system for vocational education and training (ECVET).
